Most of the colleges classify applicants into two general categories...domestic applicants, international applicants. In general, domestic applicants are citizens or lawful permanent residents (e.g. green card holders) of the United States. The admissions requirements for domestic students are the same.

While domestic and green card holders are treated the same in general, should a student be considered from an underrepresented population within the college's community, it may help the student to stand out a bit more in the college's applicant pool.
