This is commonly known as May1st. This is the date where students have to forward a deposit to the school they will be attending. There are some exceptions: Early Decision ( binding)- those students must forward a deposit soon after being admitted ED. What is interesting about May 1st is number of violations each year by colleges / universities to pressure students to deposit before May 1st. Students who deposit on May 1st or the postmark on the reply is May 1st are entitled to on campus housing if the college/ university has housing, they are entitled to register for classes and to be admitted to the major of their choice unless otherwise denied. Students may deposit before May 1st if they so wish. Students who decide to wait until May 1st are not to be penalized with housing options , class registration or being admitted to the major of their choosing, There are some majors that have limited enrollment such as PT , nursing , architecture and are filled on a first come first serve basis. If you believe an admission office in the letter of acceptance is pressuring you to send in a deposit before May 1st bring the letter to you counselor they should know how to resolve the matter In the event you need additional services please feel free to email me. Have a great year .
