Vasu Eda - Founder, SpanOne College Counseling
Successful EdTech entrepreneur, Vasu Eda founded SpanOne in 2013. His goal in founding the company, and what he has continued to ensure the company achieves, is to help students reach their college goals — finding the best fit college where they will thrive, guiding them with a plan so they are positioned to get accepted to college, and helping them to obtain the best financial option to pay for a college education.
Vasu is also the co-founder and CEO of RiseSharp, a social impact venture with the mission of changing the college-to-job trajectory for millions of college students in India. He regularly speaks at colleges on how students can gain valuable job experience and how to successfully transition from a college to career.
His professional career includes founding Boniva Software, (acquired by SSA Global), an on-demand talent management and e-learning company. In addition, he has worked in the areas of corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions at Lucent Technologies and Intel Corporation.
Vasu holds an MBA from Columbia University, an MS in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic College in Warangal.
He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and has experienced the college application process with all three of his children: a UC Berkeley graduate, a Stanford graduate, and one who is currently attending Stanford University. Vasu is the author of Get Job Ready: How to Land Your Dream Job Out of College, published by Penguin Random House.
